This is a new page collecting job listings in arithmetic geometry, especially postings that may not be findable at standard locations like Mathjobs.

  • From Ulrich Derenthal: The Institute of Algebra, Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics at Leibniz Universitaet Hannover invites applications for a postdoc or PhD position in number theory, arithmetic or algebraic geometry starting April 1, 2014 or later. Application deadline: January 20, 2014. Note that the light teaching duties can be done in English. For details, see this link in English or this link in German.
  • From Laurent Berger: positions at Lyon, see here.
  • From Andrew Booker: three postdoc positions at Bristol related to the L-Functions and Modular Forms Database. Application deadline: January 15, 2014. For details, see this link.
  • From Kristin Lauter: Microsoft Research invites applications from graduate students and recent Ph.D.s for Postdoctoral and Internship positions in the Microsoft Research Cryptography Group. Number Theory candidates should have interest/experience in one or more of the following areas: algorithmic/arithmetic/algebraic number theory, elliptic and hyperelliptic curve cryptography, pairing-based cryptosystems, lattice-based cryptography. Cryptography candidates should have research interests in at least one of the following: protocols, security models, cryptanalysis, hash functions, applied or theoretical cryptography. See this link.
  • From John Cremona: two three-year postdoctoral positions for up to three years each at Warwick related to the L-Functions and Modular Forms Database. Application deadline: March 17, 2014. See this link.
  • From Michael Stoll: three-year postdoctoral position in Bayreuth related to the project "The generalized Fermat equation with exponents 2,3,n". Contact him directly.
  • From Claude Sabbah: various postdoctoral positions in France/Germany related to the project SISYPH (mirror symmetry and related topics). See this link.
