  • 5 peeled apples and sliced thin
  • 1 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Heat oven to 350F
  • Grease an 8 pan
  • Spread a layer of the apple slices in the pan
  • Sprinkle some lemon juice on the apples
  • Repeat until no apples are left. Make sure apples are densely packed
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon and salt. With hands, mix until a uniform, coarse "meal" is generated
  • Pour mix over apples and tighten. Make sure there's a uniform layer of the crisp over everything and that it is sealed well. Especially near the rim of the pan
  • Bake for about an hour. Until golden. Serve warm with vanilla ice-cream...yum!
