Skier 3.1

2003-5-16

This is the third draft of the skier. I started the first version in Tahoe on the slopes. It was made out of a dollar-bill whose shape allows for good skies, but way too bulky. With the second version, I finally got access to some origami paper. I combined a middle skewed bird base with pleated grafting around the edge. The body got very thick, so I simplified the middle to a series of sinks and pleats. This version uses that. The proportions came out well, but the model is not very efficient in the use of the paper. This model was folded from 6" American foil.

The reference point divides the side into the ratio 1:2-rt(2)
