PHP
Fedora 13 ships with PHP 5.3.3; this major version bump caused a lot of pain for many PHP applications, however, recent versions of most popular PHP applications are now fine.
MediaWiki
MediaWiki was affected by the introduction of a new reserved keyword and was fixed in 1.13. Please upgrade your MediaWikis!
dl()
The ability to load PHP extensions at runtime via dl() was removed. You should use php.ini in order to load PHP extensions that your application may need.
date.timezone
PHP now requires setting a default timezone. While we have a system-wide php.ini which does this, if you have a custom php.ini, you'll need to set the timezone yourself, as the system php.ini will not apply. We recommend adding a line like:
- date.timezone = "US/Eastern"
to your php.ini files.
Ruby
paperclip is not installed, because its dependency activesupport requires a later version of Ruby than we have.
Zephyr
Zephyr was repackaged and built for 64-bit only.
Athena
The athena-base, athena-lprng and athena-lprng-misc were removed in favor of cups.
Missing packages
The following packages were removed between Fedora 11 and Fedora 13.
