Banana Bread

  • 4 medium soft bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (brown or white or a combination)
  • 1/2 cup butter or oil
  • 1/2 cup butter milk or sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • optional: 1 tbsp cinnamon, a little lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla, walnuts


  • Preheat oven to 325F (175C)
  • Mix together all wet ingredients
  • Whisk the dry ingredients together (not the choc. chips) then mix into the banana mixture
  • Add the chocolate chips at end, when everything is mixed together
  • Pour into a greased pan
  • Bake for 45-70 minutes depending on pan or until brown and dry (check with toothpick)
