You point out that most of your energy consumption is burning gas to make heat.  Would it be practical to use the heat from garbage incineration, rather than (inefficiently) generating electricity?

I'm sure the NRG people talked about it, but what happens to all the chlorine and other nasty compounds released during incineration?
