Dear Professor Fisher and all,
What about discussing on monday some general problem sovling strategies? … if such things exist. Also I notice from the solution of many of the exam problems that often the problem is asking for some approximate answer. While I was doing the problem, I took it at face value and over-complicated things. So how can we recognize the approximatations that can be used for a problem?

ps. thanks for your reply in the email.
