Calendar Swamp: Denmark’s visionary free-busy sharing/calendar service

February 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Between the work done by CalConnect members for The Open Group’s challenge, and the work done by Denmark it’s possible to create environments where users can perform free/busy lookups if they are using Microsoft Exchange, Novell’s Groupwise,  IBM Lotus Notes, RPI’s Bedework, Zimbra, Apple, Timebridge, OSAF’s Chandler and Google.

While Oracle participated in The Open Group’s challenge, to the best of my knowledge neither Oracle, nor any 3rd party, has yet created a shim so that this can be done using the Oracle Calendar Server (9.x or 10.x).  I view this as an unfortunate gap.
