We are proud to announce the date for this year's MIT Open: April 24 and 25, 2010!
The MIT Open is of the largest amateur competitions in the Northeast,
and attracted nearly 1000 dancers from over 70 schools and studios in 2009. The
competition will again be held in Rockwell Cage on the MIT Campus.

Sometimes it feels like summer just goes too fast, so take a second to turn
back the clock. It's 1977: Star Wars Episode IV is selling out in
theaters, ABBA is climbing the charts, and the Hustle, that crazy new
dance, is taking over discos everywhere. Nowhere is safe, not even MIT! On
Saturday, August 8, in Morss Hall, Walker Memorial, the Ballroom Dance
Team is bringing you a night of dancing fit for John Travolta himself.
Once you've let yourself slow down and take in the waltz, cha-cha, foxtrot,
and rumba music, there's only one thing to do: Hustle Up!

7:30 pm-8:00 pm: Free Beginner Hustle lesson (with admission)
8:00 pm- 11:30pm: General dancing

The MIT Ballroom Dance team is proud to sponsor a series summer beginner social classes. The classes are open to the public. No dance experience? No problem! These classes are targeted at complete beginners. No partner? It doesn't matter! We will rotate through partners in the classes. No cash? Classes are FREE for MIT students with ID, and $5 for everyone else.
Classes will be held this summer on the 3rd floor of Building 34 . Please note that these classes focus on learning fun social figures. Our technique-based competitive training starts in the fall!

This Saturday, July 11, it's MITBDT's July Social: "It's Ballroom Dancing,
Charlie Brown!"
A very wise beagle once said, "To live is to dance, to dance is to live."
So come and live a little with your fellow Peanuts at the MIT Ballroom
Dance Team's July Social. Whether you're more of a Linus or a Lucy, a
Sally or a Shroeder, you'll have a blast at the only ballroom social
endorsed by the original Joe Cool. Featuring a free lesson on Quickstep to
perk up the Charlie Brown in all of us.
