Term begins

Things are going. I like this. Rush was crazy, emotionally charged, and I’m glad it’s over. With rush came a vigorous and somewhat unpleasant trip through the past along with thorough analysis of the present, but in the end, it helped me decide where I want to go with my future. Although things certainly aren’t completely peachy, I feel that I’ve worked out the kinks that I was struggling with, and have a fresh perspective. Overall, I’d call it a win.
Now I can finally settle into a regular routine, and get myself back on track. Term gives me a sense of purpose and drive that I was struggling with over the summer. I have class at 9am or 9:30am every morning. This sucks. However, I’m trying to make the best of it; getting to bed relatively early (at least compared to previous terms), going to all my lectures, and waking up early enough before classes that I can actually function by the time I get to them. I have convenient breaks for lunch, which is really nice. I have hour (and up to 3 hour) breaks over the course of the day that I have managed to remain productive during, so I’m already comfortably ahead on my assignments.
I’m taking 4 classes this term, along with a UROP, my hall chair duties, and hopefully I’ll be getting back into the concert band. Classes are: 6.002 (Circuits and Electronics), 6.02 (Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Computer Science II), 8.01 (Physics I), and 24.900 (Introduction to Linguistics). The UROP I’m working on is the same as I had over the summer. The course load seems pretty manageable so far, which hopefully means I’ll have lots of hours to put into my UROP.
Of the few punty activities I’ve been up to, I’ve spent time watching Firefly with hall, and reading High Fidelity, a book that Charles recommend I read. Admittedly, there has also been a fair amount of napping.
I believe that is it for now; I should be fairly free the upcoming days so maybe I will blag about something exciting.
