Ok, show of hands. Who here can say that the first thing that enters their mind upon hearing the sentence “Oh be a fine girl; kiss me” is the classification of stars based on spectral lines?
Not just a Nerd… a grade-A Physics Nerd! I’m a different type - the type that sees the word “Ruby” and first thinks, “Cool programming language” instead of “Shiny red rock” :-)
I would definitely recogniz that “Oh Be A Fine Girl, Kiss Me” was a mnemonic that I had learned before. I’m pretty sure that I would have figured out it had to do with the order of colors in a rainbow, had I spent a minute trying to remember the mnemonic (ironic, huh?). I don’t think I would have thought of it in terms of stars and spectral lines…

I wouldn’t recommend using that as a pickup line.
