concerts - mission of burma

on september 23rd boston’s own punk rock demi-gods, mission of burma, will play at the ica. rumor has it that they might even play two nights! if you haven’t been to a concert at the ica yet, or for that matter haven’t seen mission of burma live, then you definitely don’t wanna miss this shindig. last year’s album, the obliterati, was solid through and through, and despite coming decades after the group’s quintessential vs. lp and the signals, calls, and marches ep, it unequivocally proves that burma still fucking owns, so pay your respects and check out what is sure to be one of the best shows of ‘07. if i don’t see you there then shame on you.

be warned that nothing has been set in stone at this point, aside from the fact that mission of burma is in fact playing at the ica in the not too distant future; check for updates either at the ica’s homepage, or the critique of pure reason, the group responsible for working with the ica to putting this plan into action.

in the seemingly impossible case that you’ve never heard any of mission of burma’s music (such a scenario can’t actually be possible, right?), you can listen to most of the obliterati here, and some of onoffon, their previous release, here.

concerts — evan wendel @ 11:12 pm
