On Thursday night, registration begins at 4:30 pm. The opening reception and welcoming remarks begin at 5:30 pm, and the “Communicating Climate Change” panel begins at 6:30pm.

Disruptive Environments

MIT’s Program in Anthropology, Program in Science, Technology and Society, and the Department of Urban Studies and Planning’s Environmental Policy and Planning program are co-sponsoring “The Wrong War – The Secret History of the War on Cancer.”

Dr. Devra Davis is an epidemiologist with a Ph.D. in science studies. She has been a leading figure in the public and scientific debates over the environmental causes of cancer. Davis is currently the director of the Center for Environmental Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Her book When Smoke Ran Like Water: Tales of Environmental Deception and the Battle Against Pollution won a National Book.
