On Sunday May 31st from 3-5 pm, Ashdown will be holding a yard sale on the sidewalk outside the gates. All residents are welcome to bring unwanted items, such as appliances, lighting, furniture, kitchen stuff, household items, clothing or electrons to sell or give away. The sale will be open to the general public as well as the MIT community.

Announcing the first Ashdown "Earth Day Volunteer" event: We will be joining over 1,000 volunteers cleaning up along all 80 miles of the Charles River, from its headwaters at Echo Lake to the Boston Harbor. After the volunteer event, we will have a picnic lunch so you can have fun with your fellow Ashdowners by the river. Ashdown will provide a picnic lunch for all volunteers who RSVP. Elections for the coming year's Ashdown House Executive Committee will take place on Wednesday. We will have a booth in the lobby from 8am-8pm. All you have to do is fill out a ballot. You can vote for up to 5 of the candidates.

A reading group on Wittgenstein's philosophy is set to start in
Ashdown! This semester, we will read his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus.

we are having the second meeting of the Wittgenstein reading group this Sunday at 6.30PM in Thirsty Ear Pub.

In the meeting, we will have an invited lecture by a Wittgenstein expert, Kenny Walden, a philosophy graduate student at MIT. No readings are required for today.

An Ashdown alumna for the 1990s, Dhaya Lakshminarayanan, will be here to perform for us on Sunday at 1:00 pm. She is a professional comedienne who lives in San Francisco and will be in Boston this weekend. She is also bringing her opening act with her, and she has offered to do a Q-and-A after the performance.
